LIFE'S A BEACH...

I LIVE ON THE DRIEST INHABITED CONTINENT ON EARTH...

Its interior has one of the lowest rainfalls in the world and about three quarters of the land is arid or semi-arid.

 85% of Australia's population
live within 50 kilometres of
the coastline.

I live a 15 minute drive
from some of the many magnificent, often deserted
beaches and the Pacific Ocean.

Beside the clear waters of the inlet at
Valla Beach...

 Shoe parking...                                                                                      A beach office...

...and the view out the office window

Over the Christmas and Easter holidays there's a mass
migration...to the beach...

...to swim, fish, run, walk, wander,  camp, relax, rejuvenate...

hang out at beachy cafés...in sandy bare feet, sarongs, shorts, bathers...and
hats that have seen a decade of
beach holidays...

catch a wave...

 Become Superheroes...

...and feel the sun's last rays...

Summer "officially" finishes here on the last day of February...but
the holiday feeling continues...through autumn, winter, spring...
 life's a beach...

  2. Oh, that is just beautiful. I must make it to Australia one day. I live a 20 minute walk to the Pacific Ocean as well...but it's all rocky beaches, cedar logs and kelp. Pretty in a different way - and very cold for swimming!

    1. Thanks Sheila. Isn't it fantastic that we're both on either side of the Pacific. Let me know when you plan to come down to visit. I also hope to get up to your beautiful side of the Pacific one day. xx

  6. Hi Anna, Absolutely!! How do we get a sponsor for a Blogger's Jet??? You would love the warmer waters of the north coast where I live. I'm constantly in awe of your dedication and love of your ocean swimming. xx
