JACARANDA SILK

Ephemeral carpet...

...of Jacaranda blossoms...
delicate bells festoon every surface on which they fall...
Purple haze beauty...

This jacaranda in our front garden has grown from a
scrawny, unloved specimen to a strong tree which flowers
 every Spring...

My jacaranda Vietnamese silk began life as a long sleeved jacket, partner to loose purple pants... the pants ripped their way out of my wardrobe many years ago after an altercation with a bleacher in the Bellingen Park grandstand (seen in my last post) - it was the stage for a performance of the acapella choir I sang with...

No ripping for the sleeves - they were deliberately cut off and a new,
 cooler top was created...
Perfect for tossing blossoms skyward...

I find jacaranda season intoxicating.

Jacaranda pants rescued from someone's throw away pile...they needed a snip, a tuck or two and a patch from an old dress...
Earrings from a pre-loved market stall...
